Meet me at VizThink!

I'll be speaking an interesting conference called VizThink, set for January 27-28 in San Francisco.  The conference has gathered an amazing lineup of speakers who represent a wide range of visual thinking professions, from visual facilitators to information graphic designers to software developers. It promises to be a hands-on conference where you pull out your pencils and erasers and get to work - I'm personally looking forward to improving my sketching skills.  I'll be co-presenting at the Opening General Session on Monday, and then facilitating a session "Teach an Old PowerPoint Dog New Tricks" afterward.  If you attend the conference, be sure to say hi!

BBP at the United Nations

One of the highlights of 2007 was to get an email from a lead prosecutor at the United Nations International Criminal Tribunal for the Former Yugoslavia. The lawyer was working on the opening statement for a war crimes trial, and she found out about BBP and sent me an email to see if I was interested in helping out.  Shortly thereafter I was on a plane to The Hague in the Netherlands to conduct a workshop for her team, helping to distill a very complex case into a clear and compelling story. It was an amazing experience to work with a group of super-intelligent people from all over the world, on such an important case. Just as BBP can clarify an opening statement for a high-stakes war crimes trial, so too can it clarify your ideas and increase the impact of your communications.
